Is life feeling a little ‘same old’? Are you stuck in a rut or constantly bored?! Perhaps it’s time to try something new and add a little pow back into your day! Here’s our suggestion of 5 fun new hobbies to try to add a pop of fun back into your life.
Stand-Up Paddle boarding (SUP)
Stand up paddle boarding is massively on the rise everywhere you turn, and for good reason!
This water sport is a fun and balance challenging way to spend an afternoon! Don’t be nervous. You definitely don’t have to have any prior knowledge to give this one a go, and with tons of water sports centres around you’re sure to find a great instructor to help guide you when you first sign up.
This water sport is gentle, but certainly a challenge for your balance. It can also be a wonderful way to explore a local, natural area too. Just on water instead of land!
Sadly, you won’t be joined by Patrick Swayze, but getting messy on a potter’s wheel can be incredible fun!
Sign up to a class and see what creations you can come up with. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of making something from scratch. There’s also something really cathartic about getting your hands dirty while doing something productive.
If you have a passion for creativity too, this one is a must! But if you don’t, it’s still worth giving it a go just for the fun factor!
Another super fun, different and challenging activity that is growing in popularity is pole dancing. Originally brought into the world via the sex industry, this is a skill that can often be looked down upon. If you’re turning your nose up at this incredible skill, you’re undermining the sheer volume of talent and skill that goes into it.
Pole dancing is not only fun and great for finding new ways to move your body, but also a great way to build your self-confidence and work on that all important self-love.
Grab your tent, and a light amount of camping gear, and take yourself out into the wilderness for an evening at one with nature.
Wild camping is one of the best ways to experience nature. Away from the heavily trodden paths, and away from the busy times of day. Seeing the sunrise in the middle of nowhere, coffee cup in hand is an experience like no other. Stargazing with zero light pollution – breath-taking.
Make sure to pay heed to the rules of the land, but then get out and adventure. Be at one with the natural world.
How long have women been kept out of the room. Whether it was the board room, the medical room, or the free weights area at the gym, we were kept out for too long.
Now is the time to take back that power. Weightlifting is an incredible way to build not only your physical strength, but also your self-belief and confidence. I’m not talking about your physical appearance. I’m talking about seeing yourself lift a heavier weight every week. Seeing yourself getting stronger and stronger.
There is something so powerful that you learn about yourself when you start to lift weights, and it has nothing to do with how you look. You learn what you’re capable of. A GREAT option for a new hobby!
So if you find yourself sat there feeling a little bored, fed up of the same old, day in and day out, then why not give these new hobbies a go?! What do you have to lose?
